My name is Chelsey Jade Curtis.
I’m 21 years old. I grew up in good ole Gilbert, AZ and that is where I met my beautiful, perfect husband.
I got married April 16th, 2016 to Nick Curtis (the beautiful, perfect husband mentioned above) and it was the most amazing day of my life.
I have a Blue Great Dane & she is my best little gal pal. Seriously, I’m a crazy obsessed dog mom. I love her.
I’m inappropriately sarcastic. I’m actually pretty awkward in person and I am DEFINITELY an introvert.
I love anything Peanut Butter. ANYTIME. ALWAYS.
I grew up in a very close, very loud family with my 5 siblings. I am the middle child so you can imagine how good I became at trying to earn people’s attention…
I’m a mormon! I find so much happiness and peace in knowing I have a Savior and a Father in Heaven who knows and loves me. I take my meditation and prayer time seriously and know that it is crucial for my journey to joy and peace.
I am a vegan, I try my best to stay true to that in all aspects of life, especially when it comes to what I eat.
A lot of people started asking me the same questions; “how did you transition into veganism?” or “I want to start eating healthy, but I don’t know where to start?”
I have been on this personal roller coaster of a health journey for several years. I’ve been learning about the benefits of a plant based diet, trying new recipes, experimenting with different methods of exercise, and working to establish sustainable mental, spiritual, emotional and physical health. I hope I can offer a bit of insight, or if nothing else… just some hope that you don’t have to be stuck in a self destructive cycle forever!
I won’t dive tooooo far into my “food past” here but I went from being a junk food junkie…
to a meticulous health nut…
to struggling with anxiety and an eating disorder…
to exploring a path of healing and acceptance…
then finally coming to a place where I am becoming comfortable and happy with eating, food, my body and essentially LIFE.
I now understand that there is no destination. It is just an exciting journey!
I’ve tried lots of diets and quick fixes. Some made me lose weight, some didn’t.
But I finally realized losing weight wasn’t my main goal.
I realized this once I reached my goal weight and SURPRISE I still wasn’t satisfied or happy with my body.
Happiness was my true goal. Peace with myself. Acceptance.
After I started to change my entire lifestyle, I slowly started to find just that.
The health benefits and physical changes just followed!!
SO for those of you wondering how to start or where to start…
How about here! I would love to help anyone even just at least be inspired to try something new and more healthy! (For your soul’s sake.)
If you want to follow along with me on this site, or any of my social media outlets, I hope to share some of my soul with you. and hopefully learn from you from you as well!
Small changes can lead to big results. You can boost your metabolism, have long lasting energy, kick unhealthy cravings, fuel your body with rich nutrients, relieve stress, detox your gut and other organs, and help you glow from the inside out.
This is YOUR body. It is your choice. You are the only one who can change yourself.
Ask yourself if this is something you REALLY want.
Do you want to feel better? Do you want to improve your mood everyday? Do you want to have a healthier lifestyle? Do you want to be happy?
I plead with you to get rid of the chatter in your head telling you that you are not good enough, you don’t have time, you can’t afford it, you’re too far gone…
Those are all lies. They are not coming from your true self.
We all have this beautiful force within ourselves. With it we can “create a beautiful life or we can destroy everything around us.”
I strive to choose to create beauty.
